Judging Procedures

1. Entries will be submitted in an approved Modern Hardware Master Grilling Cook-Off (MHMGCO) container only. A runner will Pick up food from the teams and deliver to the judges. Each container will be numbered and will not have any other identifiable markings on them.

2. Teams may not bribe or persuade judges in anyway. This will lead to disqualification and being banned from the event for 2 years.

3. Judging will be done by a team of 6 persons, who are at least 16 years of age. (Only Judges, Contest Reps and necessary support staff are allowed in judging area during the judging process.)

4. Each judge will first score all the samples for appearance of food. The turn-in containers will then be passed around the table and each judge will be given equal cuts of food for taste, texture and color. For the Grills Gone Wild category the Judges will also judge on uniqueness.

5. The scoring system is from 10 (Excellent) to 0 (Poor). A deduction of 1 point will be taken for each rule broken. Deductions for any entries turned in before posted time. Teams may turn in food maximum 5 minutes before or 5 minutes after posted time. Teams turning in food earlier then 5 minutes before will be deducted 1 point. Teams turning in food later then 5 minutes after the posted time will not be accepted.  Deduction of 1 point will be taken for each occurrence: Unapproved markings on food or container, foreign objects in container other then food, pooled sauce and side sauce.

6. Results will be tallied. Each round will be judged separately. There will be a prize given for 1st, 2nd  and 3rd place in each round. Then there will be a prize for the overall champion for combined both rounds.  All teams will receive a prize unless disqualified. In case of tie a coin toss will determine the final results. The coin toss will be done by the event coordinator.

7. All results are final. No exceptions.
